Arrrr... Pirate Blouse

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a good weekend.

After reluctantly dragging myself out of bed this morning, I opened my closet and the first thing that I saw was my J Brand pencil skinnies in Palette. I figured, hmm why not? I haven't worn them in forever. Then I grabbed it thinking, what top? Which is when I spied my pirate blouse! It's not really called a pirate blouse, but I always call it that because it looks like what pirate's wear in cartoons, mostly due to the balloony sleeves :) So I turned out to be some sort of Pirate / Painter mix.

Every time I wear my fur vest to work someone always comments on it. Today, it was "Did you go hunting this weekend?" *facepalm* Pft, engineers, what do they know!

Just Another Bow Blouse. No Biggie.

I've been really into that lately and been neglecting my jeans. Why? I don't know. Maybe I'm getting older? Nah, that's not it. Sometimes I feel jeans are too casual nowadays, and not classy enough. But then again, neither are leggings and I wear them all the time. Any way, moving on to the outfit I wore to Dine Out at Chambar with my coworkers~

2 Fauxes Make a Right: Silk-esque Blouse and Leather-esque Shorts

I've been looking for leather shorts for the longest time, and I'm SO glad I got these t.cec ones from TOBI a couple weeks ago. Though they are only faux-leather, they are the softest things my hands have ever had the luxury of touching. Ya feel me? I know you want to. On top of that, this teal Ellison blouse, is as light weight and as soft as silk. Like touching a baby's bottom. Ya, smoooooth.

I hope you liked my play on words, my Canadian french/english bilingual friends ;) I thought it was pretty punny :D

New Purchases! Tweed, Lace, Leather & a Blouse

Okay, I splurged. But only because Tobi was having a 30% off site-wide sale. Usually I would match with Revolve since their shipping is free, have wider selection and better customer service, but this time around Tobi's exclusive new arrivals were TOO cute to resist. Nonetheless, I bought 4 things that I hope will become new staples in my wardrobe.

Olivaceous Weave In & Out Jacket ($115 down to $80) and Ellison Sleek & Chic Blouse in Teal ($40 down to $28)

I've been lusting for a chanel-esque collarless tweed jacket for a while now, and I couldn't find one that really suited my style. Many were in cutesy colours like baby pink and pale blue, but I feel this black/grey/white one is easier to match and much more me. It features snap buttons and a zipper, but I don't see myself ever using it. I do like that it adds interest into the jacket. After 30% off this piece came to around $80.

Minimalistic... but more ruffles!

I dunno what it is, but I've been on a ruffles kick! Half of my haul from Wholesale7 was entirely made up of ruffley chiffon blouses. This one is a nice dark teal blue, has a higher collar that reminds me of traditional chinese dresses, and an asymmetrical ruffle that attaches across the collar with a button loop. Usually I don't enjoy wearing high-collared tops because I think I have a proportionally short neck compared to the rest of my body, and the high collar totally makes what neck I have disappear.

New Mix of Old Outfits

I'm the type of person where if I like a piece of clothing, I like the wear the heck out of it. Wednesday's outfit was a mixture of a lot the clothing pieces that I frequently wear. I think all of them have been in previous outfit photos. Sometimes an old item can be just as good as a new one, depending on how you wear it.

Remember the bow blouse from here and here? Guess whose wearing it again ;) This time, I'm wearing a sweater over it since alone, it would have been too cold. Plus, the bow looks super cute popping out of the v-neck like that.

The Versatility of the Bow Blouse & the Burgandy Cardigan

I love finding pieces that can fit in a variety of different environments and ensembles.

Take my newest acquire, the H&M bow blouse. I wore it last week to a friend's birthday dinner here, and I also wore it today for a work interview. It fits so nicely into my high-waisted skirt. The material was so nice that it didn't wrinkle when I took it out of my skirt. :)

This cardigan is also such a colour that can be worn for both casual (here) and work environments. This burgandy colour gives just enough pop to be memorable during an interview or networking event and looks good on most skin tones~

I went to a birthday dinner tonight at Joey's and had a great time :) Lovely people, lovely atmosphere~
What I love about Joey's is the gigantic wash rooms. Perfect for cam whoring <3

Vancouver Beauty & Lifestyle Bloggers Meet-up
