Review: Banana Republic Tall Classic Trench

Remember that deal I posted a while back? Well, since I'm feeling less gimpy today I decided to do my long-overdue review for the Banana Republic Tall Classic Trench in XS. I'll be comparing it to the Massimo Dutti trench I bought in Barcelona, which I wrote about here and seen here. To gain more perspective about how this fits on my body, my measurements are listed here.

At first glance: 

Even though I got the smallest size possible (XS), I find that the sizes at BR still fit quite large- vanity sizing fail. It fits quite roomy on me, definitely with enough leeway to wear a large sweater and blazer underneath. But one thing is for sure, the sleeve length is more than suitable even for my long arms, and the waist-belt (for once!) was right at my waist. The shoulders are a PERFECT fit, and the coat hits at a conservative length, just above my knee.

Review: Aldo 'Margulis' Crepe Wedge Booties

Next on the list of shoes I got from the Aldo sale were these MARGULIS crepe wedge booties. They are fur-lined on the inside, perfect for the freak second coming of Winter that we're experiencing right now in Vancouver. Though they're meant to be worn with the sides and touch flipped down, I prefer them up because it's just too cold right now.

The crepe wedge makes these booties very comfortable to wear and even gives you a little bounce in your step. The leather varies between shoe to shoe- some have darker leather and some have lighter leather, though they are all labelled "Cognac" brown. I chose one with a darker leather because the leather was softer and smoother... nice and smooshy if you will.

Review: Aldo 'ORLENA' Military-Inspired Boots

Just my luck, Aldo was having a great end-of-season boots sale. This time around, all the boots that were already on sale were an additional 50% off! I couldn't resist checking it out since their deals at the end of the season are usually quite steep. You can usually find leather boots (the only things I look for) for around $30-$50 after discounts. To top it off, I also found a coupon code, LUCKYU31511, which takes an extra 10% off your purchase until March 15.

From this sale, I got 5 pairs of shoes. They averaged out to be around $40 each, so I spent around $200. Not too bad for 5 pairs of leather boots! I know I know, you're thinking... FIVE PAIRS OF BOOTS?? Ya.. well. I couldn't resist :( They're all different styles okay!

To Alter or Not to Alter? Old Navy Rockstar Jeggings Review

Old Navy had a 25% off coupon last week so I decided those Old Navy Rockstar Jeggings that all these bloggers are talking about. Andrea from Little Miss Andrea recently got a pair so I figured I'd try them out.

Unlike the 5 feet tall petite ladies that have been raving about these, I'm a good 8 inches taller at 5'8". After reading the reviews on the Old Navy website saying that the regular version is too short and that the coloured ones fit small, I decided to get the Tall version in a size 2 and 4 instead of my usually 0.

This one was too big. Should've known. The only place it fits is my bum (like usual), it sags at my thighs, and it's a little roomy at the waist. The inseam for the Tall version is supposed to be 36", but these are only a mere 33". It's doable, but not as long as my / favourite / J brands. However, I do like the colour a lot.

NuBra Review

I received my NuBra last week and I finally got a chance to do a review this weekend! As a reference, my bra size is 30A. However, the NuBra is made for people with band sizes 32-36, and according to bra size conversions, to get an equivalent size in a different cup you must increase your band size and decrease your cup size. Thus, a 30A is equivalent to a 32AA so I purchased the NuBra 'Super Padded' in AA.

OK! Now that we're done with all that mumbo-jumbo, I'll keep this short and sweet for you guys :)
